Now you have me wanting to try this, love the rosette.

But even though the picture shows it being done I am a little confused. What is happening?

Top lovingly braced.

Back bracing.

Back bracing and confetti.

Laurent puts so much pressure on his braces that he squeezes the sap right out of them.

Upper transverse brace thoughtful and carefully notched.

Squeezing all the sap out of the UT brace.

Braces have been carefully carved to their final state. Next, Laurent will attach the neck to the top.

Here's a unique tool that Laurent made - the handle is from a piece of petrified sausage.

Getting bound and gagged.

Being bound and purfled.

Aging the soundbox by filling it with tar.

Wood removed from the body to accommodate a neck.

Rough chiseling the neck.

Neck vs. Laurent with lots of sharp torture tools.

Heel capped with buckeye burl.

The heel takes on that familiar Brondel shape!

Headstock also has that familiar Brondel shape . . .

We decided on a lovely chalk-white cross hatch pattern for the back of the neck.

Looks rather guitar-like.

Fingerprints.

Holy mother of . . .

Love how that white purfling line runs through the heel. Nice work!

Magical Miters

Head shot

Yeah, let's get some varnish on that baby and see how she shines up!

You know, I typically avoid these build threads because my imagination runs wild and I start to want to have a few built for me. But I can't help following this one (being a Brondel fan). It sure looks like great fun. Much like with a good meal, anticipation is really a great appetizer.

Laurent is doing something a little unusual and, I daresay, awesome, for the truss rod cover and pick guard. Stay tuned!
