Farmingnton Show Luthiers- What guitars are you bringing
Giving some thought to driving to Farmington next Saturday for the guitar show there. I know that several luthiers that post regularly here are planning to attend. I was really interested to know some details about the instruments any of you plan to bring to display and if any will be available for purchase or are already spoken for. Between the likes of Burton Legeyt, Laurent Brondel, and John Osthoff I know there will be some incredible instruments there.

The guitar in my current build thread will be there (and for sale), that link is: http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...d.php?t=222031 I should also have my Sonic Sitka guitar there, an Indian rosewood model CG. I'll add some photos once it is buffed out which will happen this week. That guitar will be for sale as well. I will be borrowing 2 guitars from some of my customers to bring, those will be these: A Ziricote/Red spruce model LL more photos are here: http://legeytguitars.com/2011/03/23/...type-for-sale/ Also a recent model CL in Cuban mahogany and Red spruce again. more photos of that guitar are here: http://legeytguitars.com/2012/02/05/...glamour-shots/ If you decide to come to the show please stop by and introduce yourself!

Any of you players/builders who are attending: be sure to stop by the Fairbanks booth/table/whatever and say hi to Dale and check out his work. He's a super nice guy and makes some awesome guitars.

Nice guitars, guys! I'mm thinking about travelling up from Long Island, which is about 3 hours. John, if that SJ goes missing, don't check my car. I can assure you I already checked and, it's not there. Nope. Not there at all.
Just kidding, of course, but hopfully I will get there to see that one, and all of the guitars you terrific luthiers are bringing. Thanks, and looking forward to the show.

Oh temptation! Wrong weekend for me. Driving up that way (from DC) in a few weeks to throw a 95th birthday for my mother in law in Groton. This show would have been a nice addition to the plans. Good luck with the show.

If your mom is 95, maybe she won't know that you're off by a few weekends? Ok...that was in bad taste, and I apologize. (Been dealing with a step-mother with dementia and I've learned that humor is a good way to deal, but forget that my humor isn't always everyone else's.)
Anyway...John, that SJ is stunning, and if it really calls to me, that is certainly a possibility! However, the Taylor BTO would have to go, and probably the GSCE. Never enough money! Although, looking at your wonderful website, I might be more a candidate for a Jumbo; I'm really a strummer (and singer with a voice that almost gets all the way to "pleasant"), so I'd be looking for something more for strummers than finger pickers. Still...that really is stunning. Hoping for a show discount!! And Burton, that really cool cutaway is, well, really cool. Hoppe to get to meet you all at the show!

I can't wait to see and play all these guitars! If I'm not too busy at my own table...
I'll have three instruments -- an Allegheny (essentially an "SJ") in Lutz and palo escrito, a Headwaters (14" lower bout) in figured sitka and ziricote, and a Zoukulele in figured sitka and ash. The Allegheny: The Headwaters (the only one of these three that is for sale): And the Zoukulele: Looking forward to seeing some of you there! |

Todd,
The Zuke is really cool. Is that an original design? Its also interesting to see a pair of strings sharing the same pin and hole. |
