I second that. I had Ken’s Taylor 528 after him and I had no luck with the lyric on stage. A total nightmare. Nice video here and a good example of how it can sound in a very controlled environment.

Hi Trace,

Long time no hear or see! I hope all is going well for you?

Ken

So, you are right there is a significant dip between 76Hz and 144Hz with a centre at 106Hz. They (LR Baggs) must've done it deliberately to avoid common frequencies which cause feedback.
Theoretically you could boost this region by about 15dB to regain low end but this will likely result in feedback.
Interestingly, they didn't remove 70-80Hz area and that's what probably makes an impression of being bass heavy in my samples.
This is interesting. Looks like you could boost the missing bass frequencies with something as simple as a Boss GE-7.

The graphic EQ on my Zoom A3 has been fascinating to me because one of the chosen frequency bands is centered at 160Hz, which is seemingly inconsistent with the other chosen center frequencies for bands. Its occurred to me that 160Hz must be close to a problem frequency for many guitars. This frequency response graph and Shawn's graph for the HFN in one of his guitars would tend to verify that.

It sounds really good strumming and also fingerpicking. If I didn't know, it would have thought that guitar was mic'ed and not recorded direct.

But the Lyric being a microphone sounds so good with strumming chords.
