Default Fixing Guitar Back Warp

I bought 2 sets of Cocabola backs & sides. They started to Warp just a bit. Nothing major. In an attempt to fix I acquired 2 melamine boards 16”x36”.
I wiped down one set of backs with a damp cloth (no excess H2O) and sandwiched the set between the melamine. I used some medium large alligator clamps to apply slight pressure as I was concerned to much weight might crack the boards. (See pics)
I’ll let you know how it turns out. Any thoughts.

Kinda new at this, but hope it helps.

Angry warped wood

In my experience, one a board or skin takes on a bend it is almost impossible to get it out. I resawed some 8/4 curly maple and even with the best of care it turned into propellers. Water, heating blanket, pressure and staring didn't help.
