Default Martin 1937 000-18 Authentic - Shadetop ***SOLD***

Up for grabs is a 2008 Martin 1937 000-18 Authentic in rare shadetop finish. These are arguably the best modern day Martins built to date. As one would expect from the authentic series, this guitar is made with traditional appointments including a beautiful Adirondack top, very light build, hide glue, scalloped bracing, etc. True to a prewar 000, this has a 1 3/4" fossilzed ivory nut and a 2 5/16" bridge spacing over a cut through fossilized ivory sddle, he neck is a nice, full soft V, which I find significantly more comfortable than sharper modified Vs on current Martins. Headstock overlay is gorgeous Brazilian rosewood. Fret wear is minimal. There are a few superficial swirls or surface scratches that you can only see on very close inspection with direct lighting. There are no cracks. Action on this one is just a hair shy under a 3/2 setup. Neck is perfectly straight. And there is room on the saddle to come down if so desired. This is as close to near mint condition and probably the nicest 000-18A you will encounter anytime soon. Less than 100 of these were made, less than 25 of them shadetops. It comes with the original brown case that is also in good shape. Asking $4000 paypal/insured+shipped ***SOLD*** lower 48. Please feel free to ask any questions. No trades, please.

Please note that any blemishes that appear in these pics are reflections on the otherwise pristine finish.

This is not my old one, so no affiliation, but come on. There are one 96 of these and they are THE best 000-18 out there minus the real deal 1937 000-18. The neck is full and great, the tone will be warmer than any OM but as responsive as the best of the best. I sold mine for $4,500 and I wouldn’t budge any lower. This is a steal. Become a member of the small group of us that have owned these you won’t regret it. Best of luck with the sale.

Thanks for vouching for the endorsement! These are indeed amazing guitars that dont show up often, especially in this condition.

Can't believe this one is still here. Such a beautiful 000-18. If I hadn't tied up all of my current guitar funds in something else, I'd love to bring this one home.

Thank you. Yes I have had a lot of interest but no takers. It's really a special instrument that will not disappoint. It's just not in the cards for me to keep it.
