Default EVH CON 2018

OK I'm sure this does not appeal the majority of folks here, but for those that get a kick out of this... Earlier today, in CT. Some of the coolest guys I've ever met, and some amazing players as well!

Looks like a great time. Are you in the pic? What guitar(s) did you bring along?

The red star Kramer is a legendary guitar, like Page's number 1 IMO.

Not in this pic... I came from work and didn't feel like leaving me axes in me car. I will next year, however. There are some pics with me floating on the Web; my buddy Teddy from Queens took this pic of me, with a sick replica Kramer doubleneck 6-12, which Eddie used on "Secrets:"

And with an original Jem from '87...

It's reminiscent of Jedi clubs, where everyone shows off their hand-made light sabers... But these guys can flat-out play as well. That 14 year old kid could blow most adults off a stage with his playing!

I've been rockin' with VH since the 80s. Love it!
My favorite video is the show they did in New HALEN CT ~ Live Without a Net
Up top is a pic of a Steinberger Trans Trem that was painted to match the one in the "Live Without A Net" concert.

It was amazing how folks capture a moment in time. There were versions that wre replicas of when it was first made, around 1983, to 1991, when Eddie broke the headstock, reglued it, and added a "seventh" tuner to keep it roadworthy and functional. His necks were not thin like one may expect, but more rounded and slighty asymmetrical, with a narrow R2 (1-5/8") nut. Probably the closest shape would be the original Ernie Ball EVH model...

As this was basically a 4-hour event, and most my time was spent hanging out with old and new friends, and taking in all the music and guitars, I don't have a huge report. I'll be at Woodstock next weekend, where I get a little more in-depth. But somewhat of a 180 - from high-strung electric playing to acoustic...

They're a LOT faster to use than the Schaller strap locks I use on my guitars. On the 5150 Eddie had one eye-screw behind the upper horn in the later years - he's a lot slimmer than I am, so at that location it pokes me in the chest! Also Eddie used to jump off amp stacks with guitar in tow. I think his knees are too shot now to do those antics...

Funny though, being the 40-year anniversary of the release of VH1, and really not much of a peep from the band.
