Gali Genius Strings?
I have heard high recommendations on these strings. Until recently I was totally unaware of them. They seem to be twice the cost of most other brands. Anyone have any experience with them? Looks like Guitars International puts them on their inventory & Elderly has started carrying them as well.

(the right way to write this brand is: GALLI) those strings are hand-made in Venice, very close to my house. http://www.gallistrings.com/inglese/default.asp

I tried Galli Genius twice. They did not impart a tone that I liked much more to either of my instruments. In a nutshell, I didn't find them any better or worse than a set of D'Addario Pro Arte Composite strings.
I know that some people prefer them so you may want to give them a go on your Cervantes. |

I really like their Titanio trebles um my spruce classical.
They are a little brighter then plain nylon, but not so much as carbon. www.stringsbymail.com has carried them for a long time. |

They guy who does my sound clips for my guitars likes the Galli Genius Titanos too. The point he made to me is that they sound like mature strings very fast, unlike most other strings that have to be on the guitar for a few weeks to attain that level of stability of tone. The only time I ever tried Gallis was to try a set of the Carbon strings, and the e broke twice before I could ever get it up to tension. After finally nursing it to tension, I found the strings to be very noisy. Lots of nail and finger noise transmitted to the guitar. Very irritating. Maybe I don't spend enough time polishing my nails and fingertips. I only left them on for about three days.

I found them to be good for the trebles if your guitar needs a little more treble,, i order single e and b trebles. Basses were nothing special. be careful to secure at the bridge with several winds. they are "slickary" and will slip out of the bridge holes if not well secured. Rickr |
