Default Your thoughts...?

I’m thinking of trying my Amicus as a six string. I’d still tune it high due to the short scale. Do you know of anyone who’s done that? Any recommendation for string gauge? Can you think of a valid reason to not give it a try, e.g., adverse effect on neck relief or six strings won’t drive the top, etc?

These CF instruments are tough, so I don’t personally see why you shouldn’t give it a try.

I don't see any reason to not give it a try... but, I would think you are losing that cool 12-string/mando kinda sound... making it more like a guitalele.

I think there is a term for this particular trick like the Captain said. I think it is something like "guitalele". On the bright side it will probably stay in tune better than the wood versions.

PS If you don't want to invest in yourself, why should anyone else even bother to try?
