The boys and girls at Weber Speakers did a great job at getting this Weber MiniMASS attenuator to me really quickly. After chatting with T.A.Weber, I knew I made a good decision. This small specialist company loves what they do, and the products coming out of Indiana speak for themselves! Thank you again T.A., and to the whole team at Weber Speakers.

Enjoy! The craftsmanship is top notch. I hope it fits your needs as well as it does mine!

So, does this do what you hoped it would do, Frank! You can push the power on your Blackstar amp to get gnarly guitar tones and yet keep the volume coming out of the speaker at bedroom levels to keep from disturbing the rest of the house?

I hope all is working as you had hoped!

So far Glenn, in the hour i got to test it today, at what would normally rattle the windows, I was getting a really full, saturated tone with touch sensitive feel, multi dimensional harmonics with the added possibility/availability of smooth controllable feedback at a less than normal bedroom volume. I will continue turning knobs tomorrow, looking for sounds with different guitars. And as time permits, with different amps. All in all, i have to say it performs as advertised. Hope you are healing rapidly, Glenn.

Oh, and BTW- all the comments about attenuators taking a lot of the treble out of the sound are absolutely right. Even with the treble boost micro
switch at +6 db, the bass knob is at 3 and the mids are at 8. And that’s with single coils. I will see what the Lester sounds like today with those fat humbucking pickups.

It seems to be a solid piece of gear. The rotary knobs for the headphone volume out and the actual attenuation knob are quite stiff, but in the little time I had to experiment yesterday they began to lighten up a bit. I’ll see how they work themselves in today. Thank you, elephony!

Interesting info, Frank! I'm glad it's working well! Interesting, though, about the loss of trebles.

I am healing well! I was able to play the guitar yesterday without too much discomfort. I started working on a new song.

I think one of the benefits of getting into an $800/$1000 attenuator is that the more you spend, the more transparent they become thru the equipment you are squeezing. But as I mentioned, for my small world needs, it will be just right for me.

Yes, the really good units are expensive. It's why I have not really delved into really expensive attenuators like the Ox. If I had one, I'd probably love it, but it's hard to get over the hump of spending that much money, especially at our stage in life (i.e., retired ).

Have fun, Frank!

Especially spending money on something that isn't, strictly speaking, a guitar at all!

Both very well regarded attenuators. Would love to hear your thoughts on either one you eventually choose.

As noted, treble loss is common with less expensive attenuators. The Ox is one of the more popular ones out there but it's $1500.

But the Weber sounds sweet. If I was in the market for one that's what I would look for.

And I can honestly say that you would not be disappointed in your purchase, Mr. Edwards!
