Missing that Early 70's Twin Reverb tone...which pedal does the best job?

Joyo American Pedal does a pretty good job for about $30. Try that first. See if you can tell the difference:



I have one that I use in front of amps too. It's like blending two amps and I like it. I also have a British sound Joyo for Marshall sounds.

Just saw your other thread. If you want to save money or do an all in one for a Fender amp and acoustic sim, try a NUX MG300. It does both pretty well. Fender Twin used here at the beginning:



It also has a looper and drum machine built in (and many other amp models, cabs, and a cab IR loader). It's good and $150.

Where can you purchase one of these? Are they available anywhere? Struggling to find on online.

I can't imagine there would be a pedal that captures that tone. And then it would have a lot to do with what amp you are plugging it in to. A Fender Twin tone is pure clean goodness all the way up to ten on the volume dial. My '72 Twin will NOT break up at any volume. It just gets louder and louder and maybe starts to compress a bit at higher volumes.

What pedal is out there that is designed to make clean amp tones? IDK?

I think you would want to go the modeling route.

Nothing can replace that 2-12 Twin tone(Maybe a Helix into a 2-12 powered cab or powered mixer)... But I'm getting pretty good clean tone from my Zoom G1Four into mixer into a Headrush 108, I thought about getting another Headrush 108 or a 112 for stereo/ more of a Twin 2-12 vibe.

20 years ago I got close to the Twin tone (A/B'd) With a Digitech 2110 rack mount processor into a 2-12 cabinet... It was the nearest I got to my 72 SF/BF'd Twin

Maybe when this Pandemic is over I'll move up to the Helix and powered Speakers but for now I'm happy

Back before Covid, when I was out gigging most weekends, I went through all of them in search of that sound - Kemper, Helix, FRFR, 2x12 cabs, etc etc. I played lead in a country band, so I really needed that sound of a tele through a twin. What I finally realized is so much of that sound comes from those 2 12's and an open back cab moving a lot of air. So no matter how much your pedal or modeler sounds like the real thing, and trust me, Kemper (with the right profile) nailed it, without that 2x12 open back cab, it just sounded thin and weak.

My solution was a Fender tone master twin reverb. 35lbs (about my limit these days) and really sounds like a twin. Is it as good as the real deal? Depends - I played real tube twin's as backline that sounded horrible. I have a buddy with a twin that has had the bias tweaked, internal components replaced, expensive tubes put in and vintage JBL's in it that is the best sounding twin I've ever played. So it sounds way better than that back line one and not as good as my buddy's. But it does sound and feel like a twin.

I don't know what your budget is, but you may want to look into them.
