Great looking ASAT. It comes up as $396 CAD for us Canadians.

Thanks for posting and it looks good, but the most recent reviews are totally hit and miss on QC:

https://www.musiciansfriend.com/guit...41476000001000

"I have owned 3 other G&L Tribute series guitars, and love them all. This ASAT limited edition however is a different story. It's a disappointment. The neck is a mess: most frets have have burrs, and the high E string slips off of the neck with slightest vibrato-bend. While it's still playable, it's not enjoyable. The good: the tone is decent (I love G&L's pickups), and the guitar is cosmetically cool looking. Overall, the guitar is not worth the money. I should have returned it, but haven't had the time to dedicate dealing with it. More than likely, I'll spend a bit more $$ to get the neck worked on, and will probably keep it solely for practice purposes. Shame on G&L - Leo would be rolling over in his grave if he knew of the poor quality."

"Best thing about this "Stupid Deal" bargain G&L is returning it free and without hassle. Given the absence of any quality in any aspect of this "guitar" it comes in as an embarrassment to the brand. As soon as you take the neck in your left hand you Know the materials, craftsmanship, and finish are Offensively cheap. Wasn't even worth the time to write this review."

If they will ever ship it to you. I had a set of guitar knobs ordered from MF for over a month recently. I called after a few weeks, they said they would ship in about 14 days from then, that they had been short on help due to Covid, and everybody was working at home. I just cancelled the order, got 'em from Amazon in two days.

That's disappointing to hear. I have 2 x G&L Tribute ASATs. I think both are really great guitars. Sorry to hear that the quality is no longer there.

Well, it arrived yesterday and I've got to say I'm very pleased with the guitar:

It's a bit heavier (8.5lbs) vs my other Teles (7lbs and below), but it has good resonance and plays well. Pups sound good, but the controls aren't as smooth as I would like. Which is fine, since I'm planning replacing them with a 4 way switch mod. Will probably upgrade the pups at some point.

Pleasantly surprised with it as is. Gonna be a keeper and mod platform.

Man. They made you wait 3 days?!

I always have high expectations on Tributes. The doheny tribute and the Fallout tribute, despite being polar opposites, are very tempting.

I love T style guitars and particularly ASATs. I have owned 2. One was a Turqoise Mist special edition which had a neat paint job but was extremely heavy and I was not fond of the PUPs that came with it. It was about $200 on the SDOTD and in that situation I got pretty much what I paid for. I moved it on...

The other was a maple topped ASAT with dual humbuckers. Again a SDOTD for $300 or $400. I don't remember exactly. I absolutely loved that guitar. Pound for pound, feature for feature you couldn't beat it. To get the same guitar from Fender you would have had to spend over a grand possibly $1,500. The only reason I ever parted with that one is my very dear nephew liked it a lot too. If I ever see one near that price again I'll buy it without hesitation.

Fantastic! Congrats on the ASAT.

How are you going to wire the 4 way switch?

I have a Tone Shaper kit coming in. It replaces all the electronics, except the pups. Looking at some Bootstraps for those.

Probably gonna go with bridge in pos. 1, bridge/neck parallel in pos. 2, bridge/neck series in pos. 3, and neck in pos. 4.

I received one yesterday from GC, a G&L ASAT Classic Ash Body that was a GC Daily Pick a few days ago at $299. Nice Guitar, fit and finish is good, sounds good, very heavy, I guess you;d expect that with solid ash a d a maple neck I dabble in electric, I haven't had anything other than Humbucker pickups in a while, never owned a Fender Tele for comparison, I like the tone of this one, sounds really good in open G with a slide. The bean counters at GC and MF must have said it's time to move some G&L's,
today's GC Daily Pick is a G&L Bluesboy Tele at $279, Humbucker neck pick up
and a single coil bridge pick up.

Congrats and great to hear you're happy with your guitar! Yeah, my ASATs are a little heavy too...but they sound great, play great and seem like they'll last a life time. What else could you want?

Faith restored in G&L! Rock on!
