Default Tiger Woods injured in serious car accident

Apparently the car he was driving crossed the median and flipped on its side. Looks like multiple leg injuries at this point.

I read that. Multiple leg injuries is worrisome, especially for someone who's job is to walk miles every day.

I'm interested to hear the cause of the accident.

Good luck Tiger!

It’s now being reported that he’s in serious condition. Here’s hoping for the best possible outcome.

Not life threatening, which all in all is good news.

This looks like his career as a contender is pretty much over. It's to bad.

Sounded like it easily could have been a whole lot worse.

They are now reporting he was able to stand when they got him out of the car.

And he did win a US Open playing with a broken leg...

I was just reading this:

Quote:
L.A. County Fire Chief Daryl Osby. Deputy Carlos Gonzalez, the first responder at the scene, said Woods “was not able to stand on his own power.”
Not sure which reports are up to date.

Default Tiger Woods injured in serious car accident

His golfing career is over. He just had his 5th back surgery!
Hope he wasn’t texting.

feel for the guy

He's struggled to fight his way back to where he once was, everyone falls down, he did his best to get back up, he could have walked away from all of it, he didn't give up. and now this? a shame really.

Both legs broken, one a compound fracture. He has a long recovery ahead of him, but he's healthy and strong plus he is definitely a fighter. As others have said, this could have turned out much worse than it did.

Yeah, not pretty... "Comminuted open fractures affecting both the upper and lower portions of the tibia and fibula bones..." Yikes... multiple fractures of both lower-leg bones protruding through the skin. And multiple injuries to the lower, right foot and ankle.

Boy, it sounds like he has many months of rehab ahead of him. Still no word of a cause of accident. He certainly has a lot of folks pulling for him.

As well he should. Especially from those touring pros who may never win but are likely to make millions because of him. I hope they have him in their prayers too.
It’s eerie. The night before his accident I had just finished watching part 2 of the HBO documentary “Tiger”.
It also reminded me of the accident that nearly killed Ben Hogan in the middle of his career.
Hogan had a broken collarbone, fractured ribs, a broken ankle, a double fracture to his pelvis, and deep contusions to his left leg.
And he came back to win 6 majors, which has to be one of the most astonishing feats in all of sports.

But, Tiger is almost 10 years older than Hogan was at the time of his accident. And Hogan’s body wasn’t nearly as surgically invaded as Tiger’s has been.

Still, never count the guy out. He won his last one with what’s between his ears, more than his body.
And he's 45. Jack was 46 when he won his last one.
