Absolutely. See my photos above. Both of these guitars have very unique things. The 2016 has a root shadow, which runs under the guard, while the 2017 has the lighter colored edges on the lower bout. I've definitely grown to enjoy the character of natural wood tops (and bodies, boards, bridges, etc.).

Acid rain, pollution, and disease in the wood are causing many color variations in the wood of growing trees.

FYI: Disease is what gives us curly maple.
