When I see a need to humidity I use a homemade humidifier. Nothing more than a soap dish with several 1/4 inch holes drilled and a sponge.

Wet the sponge, wring it "dry". You don't want any water dripping. Then I place it in the case.

Check it daily for awhile to see how often you need to re-wet the sponge. I can go about 4 days.

I used the Nomad ones too but alas, mold even with distilled water.

I'm back to the Humidipaks and they are working fine.

Been using Humidipaks for years. Love them. Convenient and easy to use. A bit price…but so are my guitars.

If you make your own humidification system or use one of the other commercially available ones you will find that PVA sponge material is easily cut to shape and holds way more water than a piece of cellulose sponge.

This is the same high performance material found in the humidicase system.

I use the clay humidifiers. I believe the brand is Herco. They’re inexpensive and they seem to work well. The inside of my cases stay around 50% for long periods of time.

I use the Oasis humidifiers. I get the ones that magnetically attach to a clip which I put on the case pocket door. They seem to last for years with no leakage or mold. I only fill them with distilled water.

This is the first year that I've put some bluetooth humidity meters in the case. So far they look good. We'll see how that progresses through the winter.

Same. I've tried just about everything else, but humidipaks work best for all of my acoustics, even for the arch top.
I've got a 'farm' where I recharge the pouches a number of times. Keeps the costs down.

I use the Humidipak and Boveda. Recharge with distilled water when dry.

Best way for me.

I've used hand sponges in snack-sized ziplock bags for years to combat drops into the 30% range.

I've been using Humidipacks for years too and I think these are a good tool to ensure that your guitars age the way they're supposed to. I can feel that my guitars are happy!

If there's mold in the case, homemade or not, and your moisture source isn't dripping wet, doesn't that indicate you're over-humidifying?

Not trying to be dense here...it just comes naturally.

I use these too. Distilled water only and I empty and clean them thoroughly and replace the gell beads in the fall / winter when it's time to put them into use again.

I've never had any issues, and the still look pretty much new.

I do know they can leak tho.. so I'm always checking. nothing is with out some kind of gotchya I guess.

Default Humidifier

Been using the Sponge in a Soap Dish method for decades with no problems.

Simple, cheap and no chance of leaking water into the body of the guitar.
