Default Hi tech mic dust covers

Doesn't get more advanced than this....

I leave my mic's set up all the time. The less I handle them the less chance of me dropping one......

With the added advantage that if you forget to do your laundry you have a pair of (hopefully clean) socks in reserve
And goes without saying that for a tube mic a tube sock is preferred

Good One TBman! Sometimes simple is best.

I use to own a Neumann U87. I used their Neumann Foam windscreen mic for both protection and sibilant control. Unfortunately what I did not know at the time, is that foam breaks down. The Foam got trapped in the wire mess of the head basket. It was something that you could not see but it was there and effected the sound. The Person I sold the Mic to had to send it to a specialist to have the head basket cleaned. Oddly, it was very expensive.

Is there a possibility that moisture can collect under the plastic bags? Or do you have a way of closing off the bottom?

For now, I use quick disconnect mic adapters...so it only takes a second to put up. Still, I am always looking for the best way to store my mics. Keeping the capsule clean and free of moisture, and the head basket free of particles is so very important.

No moisture at least in my climate. I actually use thinner plastic sandwich bags than the zip lock type

Neumann recommends plastic bags:

My wife sewed me up several lint-free covers for my LDC and SDC mics.

I think any of the ideas presented would work. I have some various size ziplock bags that I use, but I don't use the ziplock feature, just cover the mics with the bags. I think I first read about using the plastic bag approach from Sweetwater.

I use bags like this, open end down over mic, when leaving mics on the mount. Not sure if being static free matters to the mic, but I thought it would attract less dust. 25 for <$10… very durable, one bag gets reused for a very long time. (Not as decorative as socks, but I can see which mic is underneath!)
