Default FS: 1997 Martin CEO1r & Calton case

Bought a few weeks ago from Elderly, paid $2995. This guitar was bought on a whim and I've found that my D-35 Seth Avett still covers all the needs I have for a dreadnought. It is #35 of a run of 175. Label signed by Chris and his signature inlaid in pearl between the 19th and 20th fret. Full gloss with open hex-shape inlays on the neck and bridge. It has an active pick-up but I'm not sure of the brand. The action is low and fast but no buzzes unless strummed VERY aggressively; I am a finger-style player primarily so I find the action just about perfect anywhere on the neck. Has a "low oval" neck profile with a slight hint of a soft V. Schaller tuners in gold w/black buttons. Pearl inlay around the sound hole and the fine-width herringbone binding. Width at the nut is 1 11/16"

Specifics: EI solid rosewood back and sides; solid Sitka spruce top; ebony fingerboard and bridge; bone nut and saddle; mahogany neck; "simple dovetail" neck joint; scalloped braces.

The sound is classic Martin dread: rich and resonant with great sustain and overtones. PLENTY of volume!

Overall condition is very good/excellent. Shows some very small dents (many of which look to be buffed out) but very few of those. Frets show it's been played over the last 25 years but only in first position and could be easily eliminated with a fret dressing. Absolutely NO structural issues what so ever, no cracks, no glue failures.

Included is the Calton case it came with, one of the best cases made (currently retailing for $1250, new) that shows some light scratches but functionally prefect, all latches work just fine, no funky smells.

Selling for --- plus half the shipping cost, to the Lower 48 only. No interest in trades, thanks. Any "issues" you see in the photos are reflections.

thanks!

Gene
