I cut my teeth on Otari decks in the mid & late '80s. I've always had a fondness for those. Then in my 2nd year of college I was allowed to play in the "big" room & used a 24 track Studer. That was really nice too.

My analog arsenal now (mostly unused):

Oh, I've been called worse. When I got started, knowing your medium was the only way to stay alive. These days I'm the only one in the house who knows how to operate analog gear.

Steve, I spent many hours on MX5050 decks back in college. It pains me that Studer decided to get out of the analog business on a Friday and the CEO sent guys into the warehouse to breakup all the parts stock before they could change their minds. What a waste!

My home studio in '80 was based around a 3440, the next generation of the same. It was heavy, wasn't it?
