Default Blues For Freida -Eric Skye

Here’s a blues/tone poem I wrote for my grandmother. https://youtu.be/ZmAaT_h1cnc She was an incredible woman that lived through both world wars, immigrated to the United States, and lived to be one hundred and three years old. When I was a kid she would come to California from the Midwest and stay with us for a few weeks at a time. She would seemingly spend the entire time in the backyard alone, quietly drinking tea, beautiful and content with the sun on her face for hours. I remember looking out my window at her when I practiced guitar. She was the Buddha, deep as the ocean.

And a perfect tune for her too. Excellent stuff Eric and that stretch at 3.55 is something to behold

Beautiful, just beautiful!

What brand are those fingerpicks? I'd like to try some for myself.

This is my favorite on your new CD, Eric. First time I heard it I assumed it was an old standard, so kudos on the composition as well as the superb playing!

That's a good one, Eric. Not many people can hold my attention on instrumental guitar, but you're one of the few who do it consistently. Had to buy that one.

Thank you. I have listened and watched several times, and I appreciate your performance more each time. Your grandmother, who must have been a serene soul, shines on through your music.

Those would be Alaska Piks.

Nice song Eric and enjoyed the multi-angles in the video.

Thanks for the nice comments. If anyone is interested, I just posted a long lesson, including tablature, for this tune at https://youtu.be/ADQaeZubjhY
