My first thought on satin for the neck was “that isn’t a difficult thing to apply”. But, on second thought, that sunburst colored neck is gorgeous and goes so well with the overall look. Satinizing the neck wound dull the look. Quote:

Strings On
I strung up this Josie small jumbo yesterday and will keep it for about a week before sending out to Doug. I start with a dummy Maple saddle and come back with intonated bone after the strings and the guitar settle in together a bit:
Even with the dummy saddle and being just strung up this guitar sounds great. I've been fine tuning my midrange response during the voicing sessions and that is paying off well. Of course, this having an absolutely fantastic Spruce top doesn't hurt either! I'll try to get a recording together next week. Thanks for following! Mark

Love everything about this guitar Mark ... the inlay on the back of the neck and that gorgeous patina on the back and sides are highlights for me ... love it!

Just in case
Hi Lonzo, I asked Mark to special order the tweed Cedar Creek case at the time we were discussing the materials and specs for this build. His pictures confirm to me that it was a good choice and complements the tone woods he selected for this "perfect pairings" offering which I will have in hand soon.

Sound Clip for Josie
Here is a sound clip for my recently completed Josie small jumbo. Charlie Chronopoulos is doing a series of short samples to show different aspects of the guitars sound on this unedited recording.

Bammmm ! Voluminous, vulptuous, reverby, engulfing, resonant... if I only could describe sound adequately.. jumboesque ? Thanks for sharing the sound sample, it matches the looks ! |
