NGD Emerald X7
After a lot of looking around I decided to pull the trigger on an Emerald x7 a couple of months ago. Alistair worked with me on a couple of custom options. The pinless bridge is fantastic. I was excited to see it arrived today while I was at work! The guitar is everything I was looking for. I was surprised, considering the size, how loud it sounded. Perfectly set up out of the box. Coming from playing almost exclusively electric guitars, I was happy that it was a very comfortable guitar as well. I'm looking forward to spending time with this guitar. My daughter was helping me enjoy it too, she's almost 2 and gets a big kick out of music!
Everyone says it and it's true, the pictures don't do it justice, but here are a few! |

Congrats on the new Emerald! That green is very striking, and I get the whole "Emerald/green" thing. Yours is a beauty! That pinless bridge is very cool.
It has been a week and a day since my X7 arrived, and I am enjoying the heck out of it. A great guitar, impressive customer service. Enjoy! Jim |

Way to go JoeFro!!! (sorry...it just seemed to rhyme)
The Green seems to be a lot more subtle on my Emerald than yours, but that may well be the effects of lighting... That pinless bridge option is a no brainer for me on my next Emerald purchase!!! That is one elegant little guitar there Amigo...You did Good...

In person the green is more muted unless the light hits it right. Very cool looking for sure. The more time I spend with this guitar the more pleased I am with it! I'm glad I found someone elses pinless bridge or I wouldn't have known it was a possibility.

Assuming Emerald took the photos, they know how to stage/illuminate the guitars for optimum presentation that really highlights the vibrancy of color and "grain". In reality, depending on the lighting in its new home environment, the colors are more subtle, but no less beautiful. Their finishes are very impressive.

thats the color i'm looking at also, very cool imo!
the pinless bridge? is each string simply put thru the hole, pulled taunt and it locks into a slot or something? the only pinless i've had went thru the saddle and you threaded the string from the back and out-i didn't care of that too much. tell us all about it thanks d |

The first way, put through the hole and pulled tight into a slot. Like the slot is in the bridge instead of the pin, if you look inside the guitar you see the end of the strings. The ball end of the string of course keeps it from coming out when the strings are tight.

Interesting.
Obviously a bit more involved to change the strings, but impossible to have the ball end not seated all the way.

Seemed less involved to me. They still go in from the top and pull into place when the string is tightened. No bridge pin to pop out of place during the process.

It's been about a month now JoeFro, and I was curious about your impressions of the X7.
Has the pinless bridge worked well? Thanks Amigo!!!
