Most flexible chair for guitarists?
Is it easy for you to get a good chair to play in? I'm looking for ones with wheels, other features depending. I have to work at a computer, spin to the side, put the guitar down, etc. Posture is going to be on the agenda soon. Any insight is appreciated.

I bought one for my studio this week. Height adjustable, good support for back, no arms (important) and wheels for the reasons you give, its really useful to be able to swivel round to put the guitar on a stand etc. Like this:

The SOUNDSEAT is for you. It isn't cheap but can be configured with removable arms and casters and different back sizes and a foot ring, etc., is covered with leather and hand-built. I've had mine, with foot ring and glides for fifteen years and it looks basically new. My wife uses one with casters and removable arms as her chair in her craft room.

Second on the Soundseat. Add a Backjoy if you've got lower back issues.

I have had a Soundseat for a number of years and really love it. So comfortable and well made.

I own a pair of SoundSeat guitar chairs…one I use to play guitar from, and the other sits at a counter and is a computer chair. Both are the best chairs I've ever used for comfort, support, and quality of build (one is nearly a decade old and there is not a mark or broken stitch in the leather). I play two feet flat on the floor, but you can have these with rings, arms and wheels if you like. If the house burned down, we'd replace these chairs with the same kind (not true of most of our other furniture). |

When you opt for "Arms" on a guitar seat I assume they are removable. Has anyone had the armed model? Can you play with the arms on? Are they independent of each other? I wonder what one arm on it would do and if it would be workable if two arms didn't leave room for motion.
Maybe they are just for other uses of the chair. |

I have two sound seats, one for playing, the other with arms for my desk.
The arms are easily removable, you can even leave one on if you wish. yeah, they're great!
