Awesome! I got a Helix LT for Christmas, but haven't had enough time to really dive too deeply. But if 2.8 is out, that's a great reason to run the updates and give it a go next week. Congrats on your new Helix!

I spent the entire evening last night playing with the thing - only got as far as one amp model. I've spent the last few years using a POD HD500X in the studio so I as my first exercise I wanted to see if I could reproduce one of my main presets with my special sauce. I'm pretty impressed with both the depth of the amp models and the improvements in the effects. Obviously there will be a learning curve here but I'm encouraged that I made a good investment.

I suppose the next thing to is backup and update.

It's funny you should mention that. When I moved into the POD HD500X a few years back I used that description in an article about it on my website, the idea of the dark side. More recently I've been thinking about why it feels so natural to me and it suddenly occurred to me that vocationally I'm a recording engineer - I spend my life listening and adjusting, listening and adjusting, repeat until sweet. This is really no different to me.

And besides, there is Arthur C. Clarke's Third Law: "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."

Womack's First Law: The end user must discern the meaning of "good enough" or he will never stop tweaking.

... Good morning, Dr. Chandra.
... I am completely operational and all my circuits are functioning perfectly.

I just upgraded my Helix LT... no issues with the upgrade. Now, I just need to find the time to use it!

Since you're in the studio, why didn't you go with the cheaper Helix Native plugin?

Do you want the foot controls?

I commute between home and the studio. At home I work without a DAW. I also play out, so to bridge all the situations I typically go with a hard version. I have considered picking up the plug so that I could commute my presets without anything to lug!

By the way, they just lowered the price of the plug if you own one of the hardware versions.

And I'm loving the new amp and cab models.
