Default Help with figuring out two chords, Please?

Howdy and Thanks!

I can't figure out what chords he is playing at 0:29 on the 7,8,9th frets I think and then at 1:29 on the 7, 8, 9th frets again but different I think. Can you tell what these two chords are?

And if you can hear what the strumming pattern is that would help too

I think the first one is 7 9 9 7 0 0 Bm11, bass played with the thumb.
I love the song. I love Oasis when they're Beatlesque.

My guess is that the second chord is the same.

No, it sounds like 4/4. 6/8 feels like two groups of 3 (like two triplets) unless it's very slow.

I suggest you try to play the strumming patterns like a drummer - put the guitar down and pat them on your leg. They seem fairly repetitive and I don't think they will take you as long as you think.

It's in 4/4, tempo around 74 bpm.

There are "strumming patterns" (plural) because there is no one single strumming pattern. So it's really not worth trying to copy every variation he's playing!

What you need to do is feel the beat (maybe set a metronome to 74), and play double downstrokes. I.e., downs on all the 8th notes (two per beat, "1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and"), all the way. (Watch his right hand.) But of course you don't hit the strings on every pass. Sometimes you accent an upstroke, sometimes miss on a downstroke.

The main groove is accents on beats 2 and 4, lesser ones on 1 and 3 (i.e., standard rock groove), with a distinctive upstroke now and then just before beat 3. That's the nearest thing to a consistent element in the strum patterns.
I.e., there is always an upstroke there, just as there are always upstrokes between all the other downstrokes! But that one is accented, just a little.
