Default Reunited - Charmed Life Pick

I ran a few errands today, including dropping off a guitar at my local shop for a quick setup. While at the shop, I played a couple of guitars and headed to the car dealership for a car wash.

When I got home, I looked for my Charmed Life Pick and my heart sank - it was nowhere to be found. I called the guitar shop and nope, they could not find it.

So, I logged onto the web and ordered two more picks from Charmed Life, while swearing at myself for my carelessness. But, at least I would be covered going forward.

On my way back into town, I decided to stop at the auto dealership to retrace my steps. And...there was my pick - in the parking lot - wet, salt covered, and filthy.

As I picked it up my pick, a man stopped me and asked if I had found what I was looking for - I explained that I had and of course, he plays guitar, too. So, we chatted about guitars, cars, and the joy of finding the perfect pick.

All is well when you find your Charmed Life Pick...the world suddenly gets back on it’s axis. I am grateful for deciding to retrace my steps!

Your dealership has a car wash? Wow.

Of sorts. It works like this...call ahead, see how busy they are, and ask very nicely if they can squeeze you in for a quick wash.

Love the retrieval success stories. I try to teach those to my kids but they are more of the mindset to reorder.

Happy day, Kori! That pick looks so nice. I have 3 Scott picks and luckily they haven't left the building. In fact I just had a rainy day session with a piano player friend of mine. I chose my similar brown/red Tri for that.

I remember retracing my steps at the first SBAIC convention looking for my TAD-1R-50 BC. No luck there.....

Glad you found it!

Lost you nice pick and then found it in the parking lot! You must be leading a charmed life... (Sorry couldn't resist.)

Is that $30 for a single plastic pick?

Dang, dude, you beat me to it.

I sand this in a brown leather chair on a dark brown carpet. Come by anytime and comb through my carpet and walk about with about three or four picks.

Such are the challenges,
Scott

Yep...about 3 hours later. I was completely shocked and of course, happy.

"Pickin' Up Joy at the Car Wash"

Yes, I'm sure if more people owned a Charmed Life Pick the world would be a better place to live.

Happy you found it. I'm still mad at myself for leaving a red NFR in my pocket and cracking it.

Yeah, as we've discussed, casein is such bizarre stuff. I've come to the conclusion that it's slight delicacy as a material plays largely in what makes it so astounding as a plectrum, as if those two conditions must exist simultaneously. In this, it is very similar to genuine tortoise shell picks, which themselves are not nearly as durable as Vespel and other materials being used in the modern era.
