Default Doing this way too often lately

The Monkees Peter Tork has taken the Last Train To Clarksville.
The curse of reaching the age of Three Score and Ten is having to say goodbye to the musicians of ones youth.
R.I.P. peter Tork

Four score and ten = 90. Don't expect a lot of your childhood idols to still be around.

I'll admit I was not a Monkees fan because I considered them a Beatles ripoff.
That being said, I never disliked the guys themselves and during those times, the show was great for the young girls and the boys who were aspiring pop stars.
I had no idea Peter was 77.

It's worth pointing out that Peter paid his dues playing 5-string banjo in pass-the-hat folk joints in Greenwich Village prior to heading to Los Angeles. He was also classically trained on keyboards, and played the piano on "Daydream Believer" and the classy harpsichord solo on "The Girl I Knew Somewhere."

Growing up watching 'The Monkees' I always thought Peter was being cool wearing his belt to the side.
Many years later I realized it was to prevent buckle rash.

Sad, way too young.

Three score and ten. Oops, I'm three score and twelve; guess I better start worrying. RIP Peter, "Hey, Hey, we're the Monkees!"

Love the Monkees! Well written pop songs. Super fun 30 minute shows as a 14 year old I never missed a week. Love Mary Mary. I used to do Daydream Believer in a duo for years!

And this is my favorite Peter album filler tune.
I picked the needle up and resumed this tune....placing back down the phono arm many dozen times to hear Your Auntie Grizelda.

I used to rush home to watch them on TV. I believe Peter Tork was the Monkee interested in country music and did a switch after the Monkees.

Count me as a Monkees fan. Yeah, yeah, we're the monkees. RIP, Peter. Plus they had the coolest ride ever.

I was ten when they first came out, and all us kids loved them. We were goofy, they were goofy, and the world was goofy, at least to us.

That would be Texas-born Michael Nesmith, who did a string of critically acclaimed "cosmic country" LPs for RCA in the early '70s, and is now regarded as a pioneer of country rock.

I was a Monkees fan also. A simpler time that was just fun. They were perfect for their time. Just checked and I have all 5 of their LP's. I'll have to listen to some in remembrance of Peter.
