Default Scratchy sounding when switching pickups?

On my Godin, when I switch pickups while plugged in, you can hear a scratchy sound come out of the amp. What's the problem?

My guess is that your pickup selector has worn out. Switches can wear out or break over time. It probably needs to be replaced.
