Hafler is 75w per channel or 170w bridges Speaker is 150 watts I presume I would be ok doing this? Am i also ok if i add another s81 with this amp or do i need to move to the Hafler P3000? Thanks |

150w at 8 ohms for the speaker? Is the 150w for the speaker a RMS or peak wattage rating?

From the Daedalus site:
handling 150 watts nom. imp. 8 ohms SPL 95db @ 1w/1m So i think this is maximum power |

Running a Hafler P1500 bridged to mono with one Daedalus S81 cabinet is perfectly fine. Running a P1500 in stereo mode with two S81 cabinets is risky, but if you always play at lower to medium volumes and never overload the power amp it will be OK.
Perhaps its best to simply get a P3000. They don't cost much more and they work fine bridged to mono with a single S81 or in stereo mode to a pair of S81. Both amps (P1500 and P3000) are silent runners - neither has a fan, So, either one can be used in a recording studio too. |
