Instructional DVD's - blues or other
I have one on 8 bar blues - its ok but not a huge challenge. Looking to grab a few more. Its gonna be my full time retirement job.
Anybody got a recommendation for intermediate blues? I like other stuff and would love those recommendations too but I'm trying to focus a bit on fingerstyle blues. btw. Stephan Grossman gtr workshop - last day of discount on some of his dvd's https://stefan1501.worldsecuresystems.com/homepage Thanks.

On www.homespun.com
Toby Walker, Mary Flower, Roy Bookbinder and others. There's even DADGAD blues taught by Al Petteway. I have tons of this stuff in my homespun app. When I go through a bit more Celtic stuff I'll be revisiting the blues.

I like the instructional DVDs of Mary Flower, Steve James, Scott Ainslie, Rolly Brown and the AGF's own Toby Walker. All are excellent.

All good.
I have one from Mary F. I looked at S.James and Ainslee. S.James teaches here at a local acoustic shop! I'll probably pick up one of his. I like D. Hamburger's style/approach splurged on S.Grossman - got 4 coming. blues in C, slide, can't remember the rest I'll be busy. You tube was keeping me pretty busy. I'd stumble on a good tune try to find the tab or a vid (with closeups on the fingering) on the teaching of the tune etc. Plugged it into Transcribe and I'm off. that's how I ended up at Stephan Grossman's site. It is endless. A guy/gal can spend more time searching for tabs, watching vids on YT and checking in on the Acoustic Forum than practicing.

Griff Hamlin has a great blog that you can subscribe to, and he also has a lot of good video DVDs for beginner and intermediate blues players

Happy Traum (Homespun) has been doing this since before there was an internet, a dvd, or even a VHS. And give Truefire a look, specifically the David Hamburger lesson set that Piker recommended. David H teaches turnarounds and licks or phrases in pretty common blues keys. So it's not a lesson in songs, per se--but it'll add some good tools to your kit.

David Hamburger also has an excellent Youtube channel that he calls Fretboard Confidential and it has a number of great free lessons on it, including two introductory series. He also has some excellent courses available on his Fretboard Confidential Website that you can purchase.

Justin Johnson has a growing collection of instructional DVDs too. Much is for electric or "roots" instruments (3 and 4 string guitar) but I would guess that you can still learn quite a bit from them (provided you're not a complete beginner).
