Haven't done cedar yet, but it's on the map...

Can't wait to see what it looks like under finish.

Ed - you need to find someone willing to work for free to handle the pictures for you. Unpaid co-op from a photography school perhaps..

Actually, I think this forum could be better tailored to handle social media. There should be a way to link it like other sites have where you only need to post in one place and it turns up in all of them. (Or so I'm told)...But I don't know enough about the technicalities about why it's not like that already...

Also, nobody should work for free...

Yeah the iPhone app for this forum doesn't support the pictures at all either -- kind of an oversight.

I'm curious, Ed, have you ever made either a Halcyon or a Tinker with a redwood top? I hear it's good stuff, halfway between cedar and spruce.

Well, I've just received word that my guitar is only a few days away! Ed called to confirm some details and said that he was just installing the tuners, etc. I can't wait to get my hands on it!

Here it is, I assume getting its fingerboard glued down. Liking its stablemate, too -- didn't think that I'd be a fan of the darker (rosewood?) binding on a hog guitar, but here we are.

Man I love the look of walnut. It looks like bronze under that finish!

Yeah, the fingerboard extension is being glued down, though the neck joint itself is bolted on. So tomorrow it's fingerboard profiling, fretting, and bridge glueing....

Can't help but agree, the flamed walnut looks gorgeous under stain. Glad to see you'll have it in your hands soon.

This one is just plain old black walnut...

Got a few flame jobs coming up soon, I'll be posting on FB for sure!

Now with frets:

Nice shot of the compound radius on the fingerboard.

Ed posted these today. Must just be dotting the i's and crossing the t's now!

I can't wait to get my hands on it! I'm also really excited to try out the pickup -- after the great experience I had with PUTW I sure hope I have good news to report back to them about the pickup.

Very nice! Love the figuring on the fretboard, I think it gives a nice flow from the walnut to the lutz.

Hope Ed is taking some time to enjoy Canada Day.
