Default About ready for Finish

For those of you following along at home... here's the latest:

The binding is all cleaned up and the neck slot is now clear. Getting closer!

Originally I had planned on the Full Abalone treatment for the soundboard, but I changed my mind late in the game and I'm glad I did! I just love the way the guitar is coming together.... Can't wait to see the Brazilian bindings under finish!!

VERY tasty I like the direction you chose. Looks like our gits are going to Joe's together!

Travis, thanks for the thread and the photos.

This has been in the works since last July? Your patience is admirable! This is a guitar pregnancy.

Looking forward to updates.

Default Start of Finish

Here' a little Cornerstone Update:

Peter has been busy working on my SJ... I continue to love this guitar through pictures-- can't wait for the actual guitar to capture me in a couple months!

Binding shot-

and in Joe's hands getting some finish attention

I believe that's probably Ryan's (HaidiGwaii) neck that accompanied my body to the spray shop

Great Stuff

Loving it, Travis! Falling in love with a guitar you've helped design through pics is so much fun - I wish every musician was able to experience it once in their life. When it's coming along this nicely, the wait is exponentially more difficult

And yeah, that's my neck! My guitar is getting very close. It's been just over a year since I sent my deposit, and I'm like ... ready

Very nice! Beautiful wood. I can't wait until my guitar gets to that special white room in Indiana...

Default Whoa!

Picture update of my SJ from Cornerstone... The finish looks...WOW!

I love the richness that the finish gave that Redwood Top... Can't wait to hear how the Redwood sings!

Nice shot of the soundport... Looks very cool to me- I can't wait to "hear it", I'm hoping that I'm sold on the soundport idea once it's in my lap. I know many here have been converted!!

The Brazilian binding just kind of disappears... I Love That!

The coloration in the Indian is very nice... the changing hues of color are very interesting... I love Wood

Default Favorite Shot to Date

My excitement has been rekindled!! A custom guitar is a tough process of waiting... but this picture has my mouth watering again and watching for the UPS truck... even though it's still weeks from shipping. Needless to say- I'm excited!

Then Peter helped me see what I was missing. Instead of being a single opening, he made it two openings. I am extremely happy. It's understated yet has some great visual interest!

That's lovely!!! Nice choice. Elegant, yet understated.

Travis,

Oh baby - that is one beautiful guitar! That redwood top looks so rich. The bindings and rosette treatment are just right - a very elegant looking instrument so far. And I bet this Cornerstone is going to sing! Congratulations ... not long now .

I was thinking the same thing. Peter does magnificent work, but Joe sure knows how to bring out it's best in the finishing process. Great to have guys like this among us here on the AGF, with Cornerstone being a Sponsor, of course!

More pictures, please!
