I'm kind of indifferent, but I prefer aged white more than plain white

Most of my guitars have hard ivoroid bridge pins from Stewart-MacDonald.

Ii favour Collings who supply ebony pins in ebony bridges.

I understand this - neutral tonality etc., sure, but I like to see bone pins in ebony bridges, so I change 'em out.

On some I soak bone pins in tea to tone them down a little.

You are definitely not the only one.

The first time I took my Collings CJ 35 to a jam, there were almost as many suggestions to switch out the white bridge pins as there were comments about the tone, volume, and delightful thump of the bass notes..

I’m a fan of aged white pins. Looks great on my Ambertone D41.

Yes, bone pins soaked in water with a couple of tea-bags can produce a nice 'aged' look.

I'd call it a 3 packs a day look and not really and aged look but if you like it that's all that matters.

I only like bone colored bridge pins. Not enough to change pins just for looks, but dark, low contrast color pins don't look good to me.

White bridge pins are okay, but what really bothers me is white socks with pool shoes, or I guess they call them "slides" nowadays. Yuck.

Yep, bright white doesn't work for me either - Ivory or dark stained bone or Ebony wood for me. First thing I did when I got my Iris DF was to swap the "Crest White Strip" bridge pins and saddle. Think it was a definite improvement!

The white ones have never been my favorite but if the guitar sounds great, I don’t mess with ‘em. :-)
Best,
Jayne

I should have added to my first post on this - for me it's all about wanting everything but the strings/frets/tuners/nut/saddle to be wood. Some abalone bling is OK, but I hate Ivoroid binding (tortois just a little less) and would never have a pickguard on any guitar I kept long term.

I also just like the pins to blend in with the bridge.

I really like the tea stained look. Those would go well with most guitars.
