Default Rainsong Beauty

The picture speaks for itself. I can't wait until they create an OM.

I can't wait until they lower the prices. I was under the impression that "Nashville" meant sunburst and "Vintage" meant natural top in either dread or jumbo size. However, the pictures seem to indicate that the Sunburst Nashvilles are jumbo and the Vintage natural tops are only dreads. Can anyone shine a light???

I'm certain they will build any body shape and neck either way if Ted wants one.

It's interesting how we can change our preferences over the course of time. I always preferred any type of sunburst finish over a natural look. Now I'm the opposite. There's just something special about the natural look of spruce, cedar, koa, etc. over a burst type finish (for me). I think the black back and sides really make that spruce "pop" even more. This is definitely a good direction for Rainsong to be heading IMO. I'm still awaiting the announcement that the neck is redesigned!

I don't like opaque bursts, or bursts with harsh color transitions. Some of the old Guild Bursts look great to me, or Martin's Amberburst. I'm also really digging the Shadowburst top on my Alvarez Baritone.

These are far too stark and opaque for my taste.

I am really excited about Rainsong's new offerings. I love the simplicity. I am dying to hear one of these! I am sure there will be a review posted soon by Premier Guitar or someone else.

I would volunteer to review the new Rainsong in a New York minute! But I have some guitars to sell and don't want to be tempted!

The natural look ones look different than the photos that have been circulating of the finished model. These look like just fresh spruce, but the finished photos look like there's a tint to the finish.

And speaking for myself, I kinda wish there was a little more wood showing on those sunbursts. The shoulders are looking pretty black, and once the bridge is in place, there isn't as much of the grain showing anymore. I know it's a game of degrees (or even fractions of a degree), very fine-detail work... Truly an art form.

The look may depend on the lighting. The lights in that finishing room are bright and harsh.

Guitar makers can easily adjust the colour of spruce based on feedback from dealers and customers.

Cheers.
