3/4 cello looking for a new home
Greetings, all,
I have a 3/4 size cello that I bought on eBay for use as a practice instrument. I no longer need it, and I'd like to donate it to either a teacher who can use the instrument as a loaner to a student, or a musical program that can make it available to students. I'm in the Sacramento, CA area. The cello has been properly set up and has newish strings on it. It comes with a bow and a gig bag. If anybody can direct me to a new home for this instrument, please let me know.

Should be easy to get rid of. There's always room for cello.

My daughter was gifted a 3/4 size cello from a lady who bought it for her daughter who quit. It had been in her closet. At the time my daughter was playing a school instrument. When we took it to a violin shop for an evaluation, the violin repair guy said, "someone GAVE you this?" Estimated valuation was $1800.
Check if your schools even have a string program. Then check with a violin shop for youth orchestras. They might be happy to get it. You could also check with Gustavo Dudamel's (LA philharmonic muscic director) La Sistema program for disadvantaged youth. They may know of something similar in Northern California.

Always room....I'd think it would be great fun to mess around with, there's a bass player in me trying to get out.
