Just the microphone on the iphone or ipad lacks volume, and even
a little breeze makes "whooshing" sounds in the phone mic. So I
got a USB microphone with a long USB cord and a wind sock. The
infinitely adjustable microphone stand is a hunk of 2/0 AWG service
wire plugged into a foot-long piece of PVC conduit I pounded into
the ground ... I do video editing, including normalization of the
audio, with ffmpeg...
