No, not at all, as you can probably tell. (Usually I have my people take care of things like this for me! ) And, yes, I am just as much a dork as I look, but my Mama still loves me, bless her heart...

From Phil's initial suggestion, to J.R.'s permission and support, to those who contributed or lied and said nice things about me, to the many friends here I have yet to meet - you guys have turned my name into something of a celebrity's, at least in this little corner of the universe called the AGF. Trust me, the real cotten is a very ordinary guy, with the exact same joys, frustrations and challenges we all face. I do genuinely appreciate each of you, but I will happily revert now to being more of housekeeper than a star, with two differences: this housekeeper now has indelible, incredible memories and a fabulous new guitar!

And lets not forget that we were/are also celebrating the AGF's 10 year anniversary (last September) and the great guitar "fellowship" we share.

So, it was cool that the idea struck me one day last summer, and that JR agreed and supported the project, and that many AGFrs joined in making comments on the award thread, and also gave donations large and small, and that we were and are celebrating the special atypical internet forum congeniality we all enjoy on the AGF... and that we were able to focus our thanks on John who has materially contributed to that congenial atmosphere.

I think there's plenty of attaboys and attagirls to go around!! Give yourselves a round of applause!!

Absolutely right, Phil. It's the AGF community we're celebrating here. Thanks for kicking this off. Wish you could have been here.

Fantastic, thanks very much for sharing that video and thus enabling us all to be there to enjoy that moment.

John, it's great to see and hear you speak in the video - I will now have a much clearer image of you saying the words whenever I read your posts May you enjoy your beautiful new guitar in good health, love and friendship.

Thumbs up

Congratulations, John!!

Here's another video of the presentation including the presentation of the award plaque that the McKnight's created.

HUGE thank you to Mary and Tim McKnight for the beautiful guitar and plaque, and for everything that they did to make this event so special!

That beautiful guitar looks like it would do it all and then some. And when it's not doing it all, or even a part of its all, well, it would be a pleasure just to sit and look at the darn thing! Enjoy!

Default Doh!

I meant to type: "AGF" Not "AFG".

I remember the time I read your announcements when it first came out and don't really heard of this Mr. Cotten (sorry I'm newbie)

At least now I've saw Mr. Cotten's picture he looks cool with the guitar

Congrats to the appreciation of all your efforts and also to your new guitar.
