Good thread. I really love the traditional instruments but it is kind of fun to try something a bit different and shoot for a different sound. I introduced my latest creation to a couple real guitar players last week and they liked being able to hear the guitar directly due to the proximity of the soundhole.
I've heard two of the Grimes double soundhole guitars up close and acoustic played by Keola Beamer at a master class a few years ago and the nylon string guitar, in particular, was out of this world. Both had a deep focused sound that really filled the room. Little Martin (nate)
