Default SOLD: Kostal MD - Manzer Wedge

I am reluctantly selling my Kostal Modified Dreadnought. I ordered it directly from Jason specifying that I wanted the ultimate fingerstyle guitar with a big thunderous bass, but with trebles to match and miraculously, he achieved it.

It was important for me to have that Kostal sound in spades, so I went for the MD. I also wanted it to be comfortable to hold, so it has a Manzer wedge and feels like a much smaller guitar.

When Jason played it this July to compare to an OM and an OO model of his (which are fantastic), he just sat back and went “Wow” - it really has that depth of sound that resonates endlessly.

Price if ordered today from Jason Kostal (which isn’t possible as he has closed his list): $15,625 (then import duty, taxes and delivery on top); rumour has it that those who managed to order one will have to wait around six years for their guitar (despite Jason working relentlessly!).

It is just over two years old and in very near mint condition - so, like new, but played in. It comes with a nearly new BAM case (very light, yet sturdy) and a K & K Pure Western Mini pickup.

European spruce top
Wengé back and sides
One piece mahogany neck
Ebony fretboard
Carved ebony bridge
Decorative endgraft
Bone nut and saddle
1.75” nut width
Manzer wedge
Carved wengé head plate
Gotoh 510 tuners - gold with ebony buttons
“Stained Glass” rosette
BAM case
K & K Pure Western Mini pickup

Price: £9,000 ono

Those outside UK contact me regarding international sales. Buyer pays shipping, insurance etc.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions of any kind and thanks for looking.

I knew that question would come, but didn't expect it so soon...

Sorry, no.

I've played this guitar several times and can vouch for it being a fabulous instrument - I would certainly be a very happy camper if it were my only instrument. Especially easy on the left hand also; lovely action and feel.

Very sorry you're having to move this on Jonny.

Cheers,
Steve

What Steve said. A really lovely instrument (and seller too!). Also very sorry you're having to move it on Jonny.

It I didn't have my own Mod-D from Jason coming soon, I'd be all over this!

All the best,

Dan

Me too! The build is just now properly underway. Should be competed in January, arriving shortly after when my daughters' due ... So quite when I'm going to collect it ... and find time to play it ... I don't know!

I'm planning to post a build thread once I get the chance and some more photos in.

Glad you found a home for yours.

All the best,

Dan
