I just received another message from Elderly:

From: Ray Aleshire
Sent: 8/8/2019 4:03 pm GMT-04:00
Subject: Case #CASE26859: question about my Farida OT-22

Hello Glenn -
Thanks for contacting us. We really do appreciate that. It does indeed sound like you got an all-solid OT-25 that was labelled as an OT-22. It is your lucky day -- unless, of course, you are not okay with that (let us know if that is the case. I suppose it is possible that the body is laminated and it has the appointments of the 25. Only a very discerning eye could tell without taking the body apart. It is the second instrument we found that the factory put the wrong label in and invoiced us at the wrong rate. Maybe we should have caught that when we were checking it in, but we did not and that makes you the owner of a bit of an aberration that is a lot more guitar than you intended to get. Enjoy, and thanks for your business.!
Best Regards,
Ray

I purchased an OT-22 wide from Elderly, and the guitar they shipped me was labeled OT-22 wide. It had a 1 11/16" nut and was not a wide, however, and they were very good about taking it back (shipping at their expense) and sending me the correct model. I've only had it about 3 weeks, but I love it!

Oh, totally! It will come in handy if ever I decide to sell the guitar, and is now part of the instrument's history.

I have my doubts that a prospective buyer would be willing to value it the same as a genuine OT-25, but it would certainly help me get top dollar based on the market value of a used OT-22.

But this is all conjecture... I don't see myself selling it anytime soon.

Glad you like the guitar!

As a member of the Gibson forum, there are no shortage of older Gibson guitars with non-expected labels or appointments, and in fact, may forum members knowledgeable of the history and models frequently chalk it up to "Gibson being Gibson".

Many old J45s had the neck that was on the rack that day... or the bridge... etc. Maybe Eastman - handmade - has much of that same set of circumstances.

It’ll probably be a couple weeks before you receive an invoice from Elderly.

Just kidding, they’re good folks. Enjoy the guitar.

Having done business with Elderly since the late 70's and visiting the store during each visit to family back in Michigan, I am not surprised at their excellent response.

Whoever designed their USA website obviously also designed Elderly's website...

In other words, Elderly IS Farida USA.
https://faridausa.com/

I suppose I could attempt to contact the factory in China, but I really doubt I would get a response.

I'm afraid I have no idea what you're trying to say.
