Default Step Inside This House cover

Here is my take on a Guy Clark’s Step Inside This House, as recorded by Lyle Lovett. Lyle really made this one famous, as Guy didn’t like the song apparently. But Lyle did, thankfully.
Gibson J45 and quick iPhone recording.
Please forgive the flubs.

Hi Roger!

Very well done! I can sure hear Lyle Lovett singing that song! You did a very good, very authentic job on this song! Excellent! Sounds great! Your J45 sounds really good, too!

Aw mann... I am honored that I own your old J45. Why? Because it means it was used to play and sing songs like this.

Just terrific my friend.

Wow! Very nice, and totally musical. Not the type of music I normally listen to, but really enjoyed it!

Hello Glenn, thanks for the feedback on my post, friend. Yes, Lyle has a wonderful style. It is deceptively laid back and relaxed, but absolutely dead on accurate in every regard. I enjoy listening to him. I’m glad you like my take on the tune.

Sal, thanks so much for listening, and I’m pleased that the 45 ended up with you as well. The new one is still trying to live up to its predecessor, but coming along. I really appreciate the comments, buddy.

Mike, with it not being your style, I’m flattered that you took the time to listen and comment. I’m pleased that you like it. Your “totally musical” reference is comforting, because that’s something I worry about a little bit, with this particular song. Thanks very much.

Thanks so much, Larry. It is a great tune and that makes it so much easier to sing and play. I appreciate your feedback.

Simply excellent! Your J45 and your voice were just perfect for this song. My best friend was nearby listening and commented that it was an excellent singer and song and wondered who was I listening too.
