I somehow managed to save a bridge pin this weekend. I was changing strings on the deck, and one rolled off the table and through the deck. 15 minutes crawling around under there and it finally showed up. It was my only option, alone at the cottage with only one guitar (guess I need to buy another!).

Now whatever happened to the cellphone I dropped in 4 feet of water and spent an hour looking for....

I guess any little stick would have worked.

I like nice pens and, when I find one I really like, I inevitably lose it.

Only after I replace it does it reappear.

I'm pretty sure it's just my Dad (RIP) screwing with me...

Yep, must be some extra dimensional force. You just reminded me, years ago I dropped the top to a nice pen on the floor in my home office. It hasn’t been seen since. Just weird.

Smile Mysterious disappearance...

Just thought of my grandad. He was an insurance agent and sold a lot of crop insurance to Imperial Valley, Ca. Farmers.

He also did a lot of fishing in the Salton Sea, back when it was a reasonable thing to do.

He once tipped his row boat over and lost all his tackle he had taken that day.

He put in an insurance claim under mysterious disappearance…

Hope everybody finds what they're looking for!

Cheers

Paul

Huh....everyone here sounds perfectly normal. And the events...they seem routine to me. (BTW - I'm 70 years old)

I’m 50. It’s way too early to have “senior moments “ like the ones I’ve been having. That being said I had to go buy a new chuck key for my drill press. I’m sure the old one will turn up when I go back to the work bench. God likes to mess with me like that.

No hole in the bag, no loose top, no nuts!
This is why I proactively store things on/in my wife’s night stand. She shouldn’t get to laugh at me.

John, I have resigned myself to the fact that if I drop some small part, it is going to scoot across the floor and come to rest under the remotest corner of some cabinet. And six inch rules? I have several because I can never seem to locate one when I need it.

Yes. I still think we could come up with a set of work bench rules similar to Murphy's laws that describes the really weird stuff that goes on. Your 6 inch rule experience reminds me of my pencil trials
I have tried to saturate my work area with pencils so that I dont lose much time looking for one. I dont know how many pencils that will take but 4 dozen won't get it.
