Very nicely done. The aesthetics are beautiful. What is the advantage to an elevated fretboard?

Many opinions abound on the advantages one being more movement of the upper bout top and another better access to the upper frets. With the scoop cutaway and the fret board layout access is easy up to the 20th fret.

My main reason on building it was the try building another style of guitar, I always like to challenge myself to new things.

Fred - the guitar is looking fantastic! Looks like all of the ideas you wanted to try are coming out beautifully! I like the low angle shot of the guitar from the tail where it looks like it has a cutaway.

Nice looking build. I love the ergonomics you incorporated and I bet it will have a deeper and louder voice than one expects from the size.

What neck profile and radius did you use?

I use a shape that is sort of C that was requested on a build quite a while ago and I likes the feel so much I continued to use it unless a client has special requests.
The neck radius is 16 to 20 compound from nut to 20th fret

Strings are now on and a preliminary setup is completed. I like to let a build settle in for a few weeks then go over the setup again before it leaves mt shop.

The guitar got its unveiling at the Great river show in Red Wing MN yesterday, here is a video of Tim Sparks doing a demo for me at the show.

That's odd, the guitar didn't sound like that when I played it. You sure I played the same guitar?

I guess I'm just not Tim Sparks.

Seriously Fred, it was nice meeting you and playing several of your guitars. But I gotta say, that Koa OM was the special one for me. Thanks for attending the show.
