Default 12 Fret RainSong Static Cling Vinyl Pickguard

I've been cutting my own static cling vinyl pick guards since I switched from RainSong's 14 fret models for which the Taylor static cling pick guard is a good solution. My sister has the full Adobe suite of tools and she captured my design as an Adobe ".ai" file. With a little searching I found a printer who would make them for me. Made in relatively small batches, the set up charge, unit charge, shipping, eBay fee, PayPal fee, etc., probably puts break even just short of $10.

They look best with a flash and worst in diffused sunlight. The problem is you can never get all the air bubbles out any way I know. Still it is great for protecting the finish and easily removed and put back for my monthly new strings and cleaning. It won't stick to an older satin finished RainSong and I would not put them on any guitar that might have a nitro finish (and the RainSong 12 fret design is somewhat unique with the long distance between the sound hole and the bridge).

Might be the world's smallest business proposition if I put them up on eBay.

I would totally get one for my Shorty SG if you decide to sell ‘em!

I used to manufacture a line of printed static cling decals. The trick to getting the air bubbles out is to use water and a squeegee. With a little practice you will have excellent results. I always found it was better to use a squeegee that was stiff. just don’t practice on your guitar. Practice on glass or plastic.

Maybe someday I'll give it a try. Under normal lighting they look fine. On a natural spruce top they look great even with the bubbles.
