I put Titaniums on my J-45 and sort of regretting it because I like to try different strings on it. They sound too good to take off prematurely though. I'm one of the guitar geeks that enjoys those string changing nights mixed with AGF reading and some playing mixed in as well.

While concentrating on doing a perfect string change I thought it was cute how my son's kitty was playing with the new strings laid out on the floor.

Got to the b & e strings only to find out the kitty chewed kinks into them...

I play a lot (3 hours a day divided between my electrics, basses, acoustic 12 and 6), and change my strings on the 6'ers about once every 5 weeks.

The 12 and bass strings last longer.

But this is what I use for my string winder. Bought it because the jaws on wire cutters were not strong enough for the steel strings and would end up getting almost serrated over time.

Bought it basically for the string clippers. Its more of a set of shears where the blunt edges are opposed enough to each other then they break the string when they come together.

The pin puller is a bonus, the winders I had before had a puller that was more like a lever using the surface of the bridge as the fulcrum. I'd always have to use a little oil on the rosewood bridge after I wedged the pin out.

I also like it since I can fit any tuner buttons into it- elephant ear bass tuners, classical tuner, electric, acoustic, 12 string. If I had a mandolin or banjo I'm sure it would work also.

And when I change my strings I lay out the guitar and all my tools and polishes, take the strings off then fully detail the guitar. Even vacuum out the body monthly, and polish the frets (piece of terry cloth towel with Flitz, don't even have to use any more since there's plenty already in the towel).

And I can get everything done without mistakes in about 15-20 minutes.

I used one of those multi-tools until one day, when it flopped over at the hinge and dinged a soft, cedar top. I replaced it with separate bridge pin pullers, string cutters, and winder. The multi-tools are convenient, but maybe not for big, klutzy hands like mine.

Edit: although yours doesn't seem to have the same hinge structure as the one I was using.

I think the record for me is 11 or 12 years between a string change. I put Elixir Nanowebs on one of my Taylors in either 2005 or 2006 and finally replaced them in December 2017. I played the guitar regularly during this time but the sound was still so good that I kept putting off the string change. The bass strings were getting on the fuzzy side but the sound was still very good. Needless to say, I replaced the strings with another set of Elixirs. The sound is definitely better with the new set but those strings do last.
