Default 1999 Martin HD-28 LSV Adi -1 3/4 neck,scalloped, fwd shifted bracing

For sale (no trades at this time) is a very sought out early 1999 HD-28 LSV with Adi top. Not many of these Adi topped ones were made. Martin switched to Sitka in early 2000.

1 ¾ modified V satin neck (super comfy), forward shifted scalloped braces, large soundhole, Gotoh kluson replica tuners, long saddle, fine herringbone and nice wide 2 5/16 spacing at the bridge. Decked out with vintage.

Has similar specs as D-28 Marquis but for $1,000 less! Or think of it as a D-18GE with rosewood back and sides and large soundhole. It's a beast.

My lutheir did the following upgrades:

- Replaced first 9 frets and dress the rest.

- Removed, cleaned and re-glued the bridge with hot hide glue for better contact (this turned out really nice. Tighter than a banker in the recession).

- New antique non-slotted pins (flush with the bridge)

- Slotted bridge slots.

Amazing guitar for Flatpicking as well as fingerstyle. The action is a perfect medium to low (0.095 low E, 0.80 high E at the 12th fret). The neck is straight (0.04 relief) with plenty of the saddle. Frets are in good shape. Adi top has VERY nice and tight grain and has opened up nicely from 20 years of playing. Has a couple of small scratches and tiny dings but the overall condition is 9/10. This guitar needs nothing.

Comes in original Martin case (missing the back latch)

Super-cool guitar...my departed buddy Chuck Pyle used to do a whole lotta fingerpickin' (in his inimitable Pyle-Style) on a HD-28 LSV.

Way cool.

Thanks Larry!

Despite her reputation as a bluegrass banjo-killing machine, I finger pick my HD-28LSV all the time

Just bought one of these a few weeks ago. Absolutely fantastic guitar and worth all the praise they get. I also agree that it’s great for fingerstyle. Good luck!

Thanks! This one has that dryer vintage sound ala Tony Rice Manzanita album. Especially strung with played-in Medium Monel strings on
