In that price range I would buy a Lil Dawg Champster, Prince, Mutt, or D-Lux chassis build. Then I would buy or build a 1x10 speaker cab and put a Weber 10A100 in it (or your choice of speaker).

The D-Lux, a little over your price range, would be my first choice. A Tele through a 5e3 is a wonderful sound IMO.

I have a 65 PRRI and love it with the Tele. A used one might suit you well.

Bingo! Another great choice would be a used Peavey Classic 30. Awesome amps. Rock on!
Id like to get one myself. I currently play mine thru a DeVille 410. It's sounds awesome.

I love my Fender Bassbreaker 15. I haven’t played through a ton of amps. But it seems to be able to do anything.

You definitely need to try the Vox AC10. A fantastic combo with a tele in your price range.

I actually like the Tele/Blues Jr. sound. I played a used Baja Tele through a tweed Blues Jr. with the Jensen speaker and it had really great, slightly overdriven Fender Tele spank. That being said, in my experience, the Princeton and esp. the DRRI is a big step up in sound quality. You can find a used Princeton for $600 and used Deluxe Reverbs for $700-$800. Used amps tend to be a good deal because amp warranties are short, and because they aren’t easy to ship, they tend to be less fungible than guitars, and as such, you can usually find good deals locally if you live in a moderately large town.

Look at the Vox MV50 series. Killer tone. They even sound great through the tiny BC108 cab.

I was looking at the blues Jr too. As soon as I turned the Vox head up about 1/3rd of the way, I was sold. Real, honest tube tone. You could get an MV50 head and the BC10b for 280 bucks. And yes, the 8" cab is gig worthy - I have gigged with it several times already.

I agree Vox + Tele = bliss. I've had the AC4C1 and now the AC4HW1, and both were/are a perfect pairing for a tele IMO.

If I could only have one amp, it would the 5e3 Tweed Deluxe...

If it were me, I'd buy two Monoprice 15 watt tube amps. With the $200 left over, I'd nab a nice stereo delay and a low gain dirt pedal.

I run my Tele through one of those Monoprice beauties and an 80's Peavey Studio pro 112. A sweet Digitech Hardwire DL8 delay I picked up used and cheap splits the signal.

The Monoprice is a lot of amp for very little dollars. If I wasn't so happy with the tones I'm getting now, I'd buy another to replace the Peavey. The two compliment each other quite well.

While perhaps not as versatile as a Tweaker, with the delay, a volume pedal, a Snouse Black Box and Tone City Klan/Klone, I get all the tones I need. Great Blackface cleans, gritty, kinda dirty/kinda clean edgy blues tones and nice old school Marshall crunch.

Although I get my dirt from pedals, when I crank it up, the amp is quite responsive to playing dynamics and cleans up well with the teles volume control.

This set up has all the clean headroom I need and with a touch of modulated delay, it's simply heaven.

Default tele amp suggestion

Fender Hot Rod Deville all day long!!! Great sound, 60 Watts thru 4-10” speakers and a spring reverb. I’ve moved to acoustic and there are plenty for sale for about $500 where I live so mine sits unsold.
