Yep, I-10 for us at the moment.

Yesterday I actually hear someone say "Nacogdoches" at a nearby table during breakfast! Pronounced just as it looks, apparently!

The "a" is short, "g" is silent, the "ch" is like "church", the emphasis falls on "do" and the "o" is long. (Na kuh DOE ches.)
Practice this, it doesn't come readily.
But then say it quick, and with authority, and no one will question you.
Mainly because no one else knows how to pronounce it.

I knew a doctor who had done some of his training in the Big Easy. When asked how he had liked it, he said "Oh, it was great--but it was nice to return to the United States"

Default Bruce in The Big Easy...

My sources in the French Quarter spied this couple at the Acme Oyster House about to partake in some bivalves...

I am so used to hosting my own pictures that I have no idea how to put them up on AGF when I don't have access to my own server, which I do not when using the iPad! I suppose I will have to discover PhotoBucket or some such. I do have a couple of FTP programs on the iPad, but I have never figured ou how to use them.

Did a dumb thing today leaving New Orleans and programmed Natchez, LA into my GPS, MaryBeth. She got us there and I was surprised to find the town wasn't on the Mississippi like I had assumed. If I had only looked at a real map I could have avoided the extra 120 mile to Natchez MS, being the town I was hoping to go to first.

We are spending the night in Jackson MS on our way to Nashville. Unfortunately Gruhn crossed the wires about getting my guitar to me at the Memphis show, despite several phone calls from me and a number of promises made. I am going there to pick it up as there is no time left for further dropped balls. It'll cost me 500 miles more or less, but I will see places I haven't and would like to, such as Gruhn guitars.

We're checked into the Best Western on music circle in Nashville. I do hope to catch some tunes somewhere before bed. Then tomorrow I'll visit George's shop and pick up the Maple 00 Artifact so that I can spend the day driving it to Memphis. I imagine I'll actually see some of you readers tomorrow!

It's OK Tom, my wife knows all about her.

I went to a honkytonk tonight on Broadway called Legends and heard a band called Short Notice. The singer referred to them as barely rehearsed, but if that's true I am a quarter the musician I think I am instead of just half. They were super tight and completely competent playing way out side the normal parameters of the country standards they presented. Catch them if you can IMO.
