Thanks guys!

I agreed to this set sight unseen as Jim said he had kept a "special" piece. I'm so glad I trusted him.

No question this will be a winner. Enjoy the ride (as a forum, I know we do vicariously)!

I am sure you won't be disappointed.

Jim's guitars are unbelievable.

Hey, Joe. Do you know if your "box" is taking shape yet?

I'm going to wait about two weeks before I email Jim about more pics of my build. Too bad Jim doesn't have live webcams in his shop

Hey Jon,

Nope, nothing on my end.

I promised Jim I wouldn't be all over him so I made my own picture of what my guitar will look like...

Nice, but you also need to make a comp showing what "The Tree" back/sides will look like j/k

The preciseness of all those little bits of abalone for the vine inlay is pretty amazing.

Yeah, I know Jim isn't too fond of taking "in-progress" pictures, so I'm trying to limit myself to once-a-month requests if I don't hear from him. It sure helps a lot with the wait and builds excitement.

OK so Jim rewarded my patience with a Saturday reply and a ton of pictures!

Wow, this is looking really good, Joe! I love the subtle contrast in color between the mahogany and cedar. The figure on the back is amazing. Proud to be in this batch with you

Hey Jon,

That mahogany is going to get darker with the finish.

I'm mostly excited about the rosette and the fingerboard extension. And I can't wait to see the inlays!
