Default Taylor 516e FLTD 2013 FS -SOLD

SOLD. Up for sale is my beautiful 2013 Taylor Fall Limited edition 516e. Features stunning flamed mahogany back and sides, European spruce top with Adirondack bracing, ES2 expression system (their first guitar to feature this), and gold Gotoh tuners. Nut width is 1-3/4". Has rosewood binding around body and up the neck and around headstock, rosewood and boxwood inlay around soundhole, and ebony headstock. This was Andy Powers first total remake I believe, and it is a fantastic player...deep bass, great mids and singing trebles. Never gigged, never left the house. It is a really special guitar, and I am sure whoever ends up with it will love it, hopefully as much as I have.

This guitar has always been properly humidified, and comes from a non-smoking home. The case is in perfect condition. I would rate this guitar a 9.9 out of 10, no discernible dings, scratches, etc. Frets are in great shape, very minor wear if at all. Just strung with elixar PB's mediums. PM me with any questions, thanks for looking.

These guitars are both visually and tonally beautiful. The volume of sound they produce is amazing. I had the same model but sold it for the same reasons the OP is selling his. If this was a 514, it would be at my house already.

No affiliation to the seller, just another bump for a great guitar.

I'm drooling! At first I thought the backs were flamed maple and I thought, 'meh..." but flamed mahogany? Awesome! The first picture with the bear clawing (or flaming...?) is absolutely stunning!

Other than the woods, what is the difference between a 516 and 514 Taylor guitar? TIA

Default size

The series are 12-14-16 indicating size also called GC-GA-GS going small to large.
The woods are indicated by the first number, the 5 meaning mahogany back and sides.

Yes thanks. If you go to the Taylor website they have a chart that shows the size differences. The 516 is just about a 1/4” wider than a 514.

Found this page with a few more details on it if anyone is interested. The link from Taylor's own website was actually down, so I had to do a little digging...
