There is some amazing talent in my area
I was checking CL the other day and found an acoustic duo looking for work.
I'm always amazed at the amount of talent out there. Larry and Michael acoustic duo is another fine example. Hope you enjoy this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLj0jYe3Kog

There is some amazing talent in my area
As an ex-Brooklyn boy my standards tend to be somewhat higher than many in that department - after all we can claim Neil Sedaka, Carole King, the Tokens, Jay & the Americans, Ellie Greenwich, Little Anthony & the Imperials, Neil Diamond, Richie Havens, the Chapin Brothers (Harry/Steve/Tom), among others - but here's a group of great folks from S.I., that our band shared a bill with a few months back:
- and for a couple guys who can play 'em as good as they build 'em, Vinnie Fodera on lead guitar and his business partner Joey Lauricella on bass, with their band Blues Ball - and don't even ask what that solid carved flame-koa top and one-off custom neck inlay would cost you: In addition, Vito Picone (of "Little Star" fame) hosts a local TV show, and still plays the East Coast doo-wop circuit with the surviving members of the Elegants...

I see bands advertising on CL frequently in my area. I don't get it. They're in the 'community/musicians' section of CL, the only people looking there are musicians looking for a band or vice versa.

Mike,
Maybe they are hopeful that someone looking to hire a band will find them on CL. A better place on CL would be under event, gigs or talent. I think CL is the worst way to advertise a band. It's a junkyard.
