Default Ain’t nothin like a Gibson

I have three: ‘58 Les Paul Jr, ‘65 Melody Maker with PAFs, 2016 SG Standard with Throbaks.

They all sound fantastic...

When they stay in tune, which is rare.

When they're good they're very good - but when they're bad, oh brother...

I have been a Fender guy most of my musical life though having a Gibson would have been cool, like having the complete set so to speak.

I had to wait until a few weeks ago when a nice ex-demo 335 studio came up and I was able to get it!

So Gibson: like the earlier post says, when they are good they are very good. But then you can say that about any manufacturer. I have a fantastic US Standard Strat from 1992. I played another example of the same model from the same year a few years back and didn’t like it at all - hopefully it was just that owner’s setup that I was unfamiliar with...

Depending on what happens this summer, "ain't nothin like a Gibson " may be more true than you think

I love Gibson acoustics and electrics. Some of the finest guitars ever made.

my 2 favorite Gibsons were the ‘59 Les Paul TV Special and ‘62 ES335 with PAFs. They played perfectly, stayed in tune, and I miss them every day.

I have had three SGs, four 335s, a 345, two LP juniors, two Melody Makers, 2 LP Jr 3/4 size. I even have an F9 mandolin.

I love Gibson’s.

I have had countless Strats, a Mustang, MusicMaster, a Tele, Ibanez, two PRS, but my heart still belongs to Orville.

I love my 8 Gibson electrics. I don't have any Gibson acoustics though.

I had my '74 Goldtop Deluxe for almost 35 years. It was a good one! Sorry I sold it, but I would not want it back. Always look ahead. Like to an ES-355.

Still have my '82 custom shop LP, Ace Frehley LP (original run), and 2006 SG faded - all have been great. Playing 'em through my Supro Corsica amp.

Had a Strat at one point - 60 cycle hum was really annoying through the Supro

That hum was so annoying I bought the Seymour Duncan everything set for my MIM 63 Sunburst Strat. Stacked Humbuckers do away with the 60 cycle mind bender.

I special ordered black covers. I had a friend set the neck angle for me. He took it to his band practice and then called me asking if I wanted to sell it. The JB Jr neck and Little ‘59 bridge pickups don’t sound quite like Fender or Gibson, but the Duckbuster is right on the money.

I've had perhaps 30 Gibson electrics over the years and still smile every time I open up the case on one of them.
They're kind of an addiction.
